Fukuoka-based stationery and lifestyle goods maker HIGHTIDE will open its new flagship store, “HIGHTIDE LAB-TYO,” in Shibuya on August 29. The space is conceived as a place where creativity and new ideas begin.
The store will offer key HIGHTIDE brands including Penco®, nähe®, and New Retro, alongside store-exclusive items and carefully selected stationery classics that have stood the test of time. It will also introduce HIGHTIDE’s global perspective, shaped through its connections with Fukuoka, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and New York.
A community space on the third floor will host workshops and events involving creators and artists. Rather than simply presenting products, HIGHTIDE LAB-TYO aims to become a place where people, ideas, and new movements can naturally come together.
The store’s spatial design is by Landscape Products, known for extending its approach beyond interior design to propose broader ways of living. The concept of “thinking about life through tools” is incorporated throughout the space.
The logo was designed by art director Naomi Hirabayashi, who has worked on visual and art direction for brands in Japan and abroad. The shop uniform was designed by Kohei Nishimura of Tokyo-based fashion brand DIGAWEL.
The store will also launch a collaboration between DIGAWEL and PENCO®, featuring three shirt designs inspired by the ruled lines of a notebook.
