UNTRACK, the lifestyle brand by Japanese bag manufacturer ACE, introduces “CITY PLUS/ELEGANT BAG,” a new series inspired by ACE’s “Elegant Bag,” which gained popularity in the 1960s. The collection launches from September 14, 2026, and will be available progressively at UNTRACK stores, the official website, online stores, department stores, and specialty retailers.
The original “Elegant Bag” was one of the earliest bag series to adopt “Deracoul,” a synthetic leather developed by Toray and Toyo Cloth. Popular from 1964 to 1967, the series combined a leather-like appearance with resistance to rain, durability, and light weight, bringing a new sense of value to bags at the time.
“CITY PLUS/ELEGANT BAG” takes inspiration from that heritage while reworking the design and functionality for contemporary lifestyles. Its minimalist exterior features a smartphone pocket and corner pocket, while the interior is equipped with a pen holder, open pocket, mesh pocket, document sleeve, and bottle holder. Models 60622 and 60623 also include a dedicated compartment for laptops.
The main compartment features a distinctive double-zipper construction inherited from the original design. With one zipper closed, the compartment can be expanded, while closing both zippers provides greater security. Genuine leather is used for the handles, adding a tactile detail to the modern reinterpretation of the 1960s design.
